I was born in Schaals, Arkansas but that wasn't my fault. My mother moved our family to Kansas City, Missouri when I was the tender age of two. My father, like most young men at the time, was in the Army. I grew up in Kansas City, graduated from Central High School in 1960. I joined the Air Force in 1964, was honorablly discharged in 1968. I went to college using the G.I. Bill. I attended and graduated from Penn Valley College in 1970. My major was Fine Art. I continued my education at the University of Missouri again my major studies in Fine Art. I graduated from the University of Missouri in 1972 receieving my Bachelor of Fine Art degree. Since then, I have deticated my life to the arts. I am a Painter, my medium is Acrylic. My work has been shown in several professional galleries in California, Washington and Missouri. My paintings have graced the covers of several magazines around the country. I have primarily sold my paintings at Art Festivals around the country because selling in galleries puts the artist under the control of the gallery owners. I like the idea of changing my work and styles at my discretion and not at the discretion of an outsider.
The body of work presented on this web site gives a lot of insite into my belief system. As in every artist's work, a part of my personality is revealed. I have always believed that humans and the spirit world are one. My two Angel paintings oxposes my belief in the spirit world. My Galactic paintings are visions of life from its' beginnings, and suggest creation with and without a God for it is unthinkable that the Universe, with all of its' complexities, components and elements has not always existed in one form or another. The organization of elements and components is Creation but that does not suggest that these elements and components could not have been randomly organized or disorganized without thought of its' eventual outcome. The paintings are meant to be both beautiful and intriguing and maybe serving to open the viewer mind to endless possibilities and maybe to the question, "What if?"
