Elements of time and Space is a collection of paintings depicting Universal Antiquity. Millions years before the idea of "Man" as an intelligent, dominate life form was conceivable, life on this planet existed primarily in the oceans around the globe. As you will soon see, some of my paintings play with that idea. Briefly there is the suggestion of man beginnings but most of what you will see depicted is Creatiomism and prehaps, how life came to be life. Angels fly through the emptiness of space and time placing the elements that we know as stars and planets, comets search for their place in the confusion and finally, the idea that there is really no confusion at all, just elements and ideas still not explained.
I am Charles E. Adams, author of the images that you are about to see and enjoy. As a child growing up in Kansas City, Missouri, my idea of Creation and the Universe were quite different from the ideas that my parents tried to instill in me. Their "go to church on Sundays additude" just didn't get it for me. As I looked up into the heavens on hot Midwestern summer nights, the idea that all that I was seeing and experiencing could be easily explained in "The Book" seemed to me absurd! There had to be answers to questions that mans minds could not hope to grasp or understand. There would be eons of time passed before man will be able to even began to comprehend Creation, Life and the Existence of higher life forms. Gods, Spirits, Alien life forms, the mere understanding of the concept of "Eternal Life" are ideas and concepts that the creature Man is not yet, capable of understanding.
As a teenager, I loved the television show Star Trek. One of my favorite films of all time was and is Stanley Kubrick's 2001 Space Odyssey. You will see bits and pieces of some of Mr. Kubrick's ideas in some of my paintings. This body of work is about life before humanity. It is the beauty of dark skies, calm seas and lifes beginnings.
Travel with me to distant planets, moons and stars. Witness comets making their ways through the unknown darkness that is the Universe, Space, to destinations where Time does not exist. Walk beside the still waters and witness the beginnings of the essence of what we know as life.
